Our first and main story that we discuss on this weeks WP-Tonic’s round-table show is a leading recent post/story from WPTaven “Matt Mullenweg Addresses Controversies Surrounding Gutenberg at WordCamp Portland Q&A“.

It was surprising that Matt Mullenweg chose to take a Q&A session at WordCamp Portland. However, it was great to see him take direct questions from a WordPress community audience but to my mind what was disappointing from this Q&A session was his remarks (framing) connected to some of the WordPress communities criticism of the Gutenberg project i.e. that most of the leading individuals who have been involved in this criticism are really driven by commercial worries.

This is clearly not a right or a correct statement being that a lot of criticism has come from a group of leading and constructive volunteers to the WordPress open source project.
