People generally feel that you got to be a great developer type to really contribute to the WordPress community. However, nothing could be more wrong there are loads of things you can do even if you not a developer type from helping out on the support forums to transcribing videos for WordPress TV. Then you got all the things that you help with connected to local WordPress meetups and regional WordCamps events. In this week’s round-table show we discuss all the ways you can contribute to the community.
In This Weeks WordPress News Section
We had a lively discussion on what has become this week biggest story “Gutenberg” in truth we weren’t planning on talking about this topic this week because last week’s round-table show we really want deep on the subject with Morten Rand-Hendriksen and other memembers of our Friday round-table panel.
However, there been so so much written on Gutenberg during the week that we decided that it should also be this weeks lead round-table’s news story!
With our second story we chat about a post on the WPtheming’s website with the headline ” Themes Shops Might be Dead: Thoughts on an Alternative Business Model” I personally thought that Devin author of the post, made some interesting points but personally I didn’t really agree with the central argument of the post.

See I feel a lot of people have expressed that with the development of powerful drag and drop WordPress page building plugins the need for a themes has and would decline. I don’t believe this is the case at all. Why because I feel these type of plugins appeal to that I call the semi professional market of designers and marketers that use WordPress almost every day. This isn’t your normal end user types that dosn’thave the time or need to become an expert on using one of these powerful page building plugin solutions.
