The Best Membership Plugins for WordPress 2017?

We had a great round-table discussion about some of the best WordPress membership plugins and services in 2017.  The good news is you are spoiled for choices when it comes to WordPress membership plugins.

This Weeks WordPress News Stories

In the first half of the show, we discussed a couple of this weeks WordPress news stories that have taken my eye!

1 – WordPress Removes HHVM from Testing Infrastructure

I think it’s interesting how things really change so quickly in the world of WordPress, being that HHVM was the real favorite of the hard core developer crowd you meet at WordCamps for a period of time then we get PHP 7!

2 –  ThemeIsle

I thought that article had some interesting points. There was a lot of “meat” in this article, with some great advice on what it takes to grow a WordPress-based business in 2017.

There are some clear leaders when it comes to WordPress membership plugins, which we discuss during the show. In addition, we gave some insights on what you need to know before choosing the right plugin for your membership website project.

Also, we also give you a list of some the main criteria you need to know to make a logical choice when it comes to selecting the right WordPress membership plugin. I confess that I got this list from Chris Lema’s excellent post “ The Top WordPress Membership Plugins of 2016

 1- Multiple Concurrent Memberships

 2- Group Memberships

3- Prorated Upgrades & Downgrades

4 – Content Dripping

Here  also is a list of the main membership plugins which we discussed during the show. Each of these got a recommendation from at least one of the panel members. Additionally, here is a link to an older article that I did entitled Seven of The Best WordPress Membership Plugins in 2015. You also might find  this interesting and useful.

  • Im surprised Woocommerce Memberships didn’t get more love here.

If you plan to sell anything else on your site besides content access, nothing beats Woocommerce Memberships.

For example, you can buy access to my course, but also time with a mentor, stickers, and t-shirts. With WC Memberships I can create a “buyer’s club” so people who buy the course get the rest of the stuff at a discount.
